Landscapes Skills Competition 2022 "The Professionals"
APL Members will have just 16.5hrs to build a garden from scratch at the BBCGWL Autumn Fair at Audley End House and Gardens.
The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) have been the organising partner for World Skills UK (WSUK) Landscape competition for over 5 years.
The competition requires that individuals (College students / Apprentices) build a garden of 12m2 from scratch in 16.5hrs.
Gardens are judged on accuracy against specification, organisation and safe working and quality of finish.
Many times, professional companies, members of The APL have said they would love to try it.
So for the first time, this year we have 3 professional companies building a 24m2 squared garden as a team of two, in 16.5hrs.
The gardens have been designed by Kim Parish of Landscapes of Distinction and the competitors are :-
The Gardens will be built at The BBCGWL Autumn Fair at Audley End House and Gardens in 16.5hrs starting Wednesday 31st and finishing lunchtime (during day 1 of the show) at 1pm.

The Results
After just 16.5 hrs from blank canvas plot to finish all 3 gardens were finished. But not just finished, finished to an award winning standard.
The 3 teams were all exhausted after battling with really difficult plots and materials and were all relieved when the final whistle blew.
The Landscape Skills Competition was marked out of 200 points.

It was amazingly tight competition with only 39 points separating 3rd and 1st position.
